Everything Seemed Good…I have led worship for years.  I have been involved in recording and writing lots of worship songs, I have produced three worship albums, and led worship all over the nation and even overseas. I have helped several churches develop and enhance their worship ministries and even served as a full time worship leader for many years. Yet in the midst of all this “good” stuff something didn’t seem quite right.

Here was the problem: I had been spending so much time leading worship everywhere except where it matters most- at home.

I have six awesome kids a wonderful wife yet somehow my church world never quite made it home.  Yes we have always loved Jesus and going to church has always been a major priority at the Casteel home. But somehow worship had become part of my job description not a part of my home life.

So, over the past few years I have been asking myself, “What if worship followed me home?”

What would it be like if I as a husband and daddy did all I could to make “The Sacred” part of our everyday?

When worship becomes part of everything we do and we don’t separate God from the rest of our life even something as boring and mundane as a bowl of oatmeal can become holy unto God.  We can learn to laugh, cry, play, sing, eat, hang, watch movies and even go to church all as an act of worship unto God.

I want to raise kids who love Jesus, and who don’t separate God from the rest of “normal” life.  I want everyday to matter and every opportunity to be one where God can speak to us as a family.
